As good as the good ‘ol Rollei 35 was, it carried a significant drawback, making it one of the most iconic, but complicated pieces of equipment in modern history – its manual zone focusing system.

Now equipped with state-of-art LIDAR technology that enables precise focusing from 70cm up to infinity, it eliminates the frustration of guessing the focus, only to find out that the distance was miscalculated after a trip to the darkroom.

It is faster, more precise, and much more user-friendly.

The evolution of optics has traversed remarkable paths since the birth of this legend in the 1960s. When undertaking the task of remastering this extraordinary camera, the foremost endeavor was clear – refining its very essence: The lens.

Rollei 35AF features a top-notch 5-element glass lens, aimed to deliver sharp images with a touch of 90s nostalgia, all fitted neatly into a compact body.

Back in the day when film cameras were the only option to freeze a moment, understanding shutter speed and aperture was considered a prerequisite for owning a Rollei 35. Not anymore.

Today, the world is a vastly different place from when the first Rollei 35 was introduced. In the smartphone era, as long as you have an eye for photography, anyone can capture a great image.

Rollei 35AF liberates the photographic eye by easing the technical requirements of operating the camera by including Auto mode. Or if you wish to refine your control of each exposure, simply utilise its Manual settings.
