Urban Echoes

Piyatat Primtongtrakul, or Bank in short, is a photographer based in Thailand, whose work spans across genres such as portrait, couples, branding and documentary. We found his style to be warm, personal, and a unique blend between dreamy and authentic. We asked him a few questions and he’s generously shared some recent images he took with the Rollei 35AF:

When did you first start shooting film, and why do you still shoot film in the digital age?

I started shooting film when I was 22 yo with Leica m6.

What is your favorite theme or subject to photograph and why?

I love street photography because I can create unexpected moments and it feels much more special with film photography.

What about the Rollei 35AF do you enjoy?

I love how small it is, I have never used such a compact camera as Rollei 35AF before and with its auto focus, it makes capturing film much easier.

What is something that the Rollei 35AF offers that allows you to approach photography differently?

I don't really mind carrying this Rollei 35AF daily because of its compact size, so I can enjoy film more.

If you were to recommend this camera to one photographer, who would it be and why?

Anyone who started shooting film, this one can help you enjoy film photography a lot!

What is one film stock you’re looking forward to shooting with the Rollei 35AF?
